Let me start off by saying this: I’m not one for OOTDs. Normally, I wear the SAME type of outfit – EVERY DAY! You may ask what it is – and I’ll tell ya because it’s simple: A nerdy t-shirt or tank top from JORDANDENE, jeans, and my Vibram FiveFinger shoes… if it’s cold there will be a coat or flannel, but that’s it. I’m pretty basic on the daily, and that’s okay.

A few weeks ago I was feeling “schmancy.” I did my makeup via IG Livestream [BIG SHOUTOUT TO EVERYONE WHO JOINED ME FOR IT], put on my HerUniverse Marvel Skater dress that I got in the Fangirl box from last year, jean jacket, tights, and shoes from TORRID that are a bit too wide – but still classy – oh… and my lavender wig.

I’d be lying if I said that I was 100% comfortable with my body. I still have a few issues with it – but it’s the only body I have so I love it just the same. I don’t really wear skirts or dresses that often because I am pretty tall and I have a long torso, which means things don’t fit the right way. Add to that that I’m still very much a tomboy in my style and there’s an ingrained “meh” for skirts and dresses. It’s weird, I know. It’s me and I’ve always been weird — it’s part of my charm.

I’m always one for trying to get out of my comfort zone – so occasionally, I bust out a skirt or dress and rock it. It helps when you’re trying to rock some EVERYDAY COSPLAY! The outfit that I rocked for this OOTD was just a basic Marvel-inspired, not that that’s basic or bad or anything — just fun.  This dress is awesome! The fabric is super soft and flowy, and I love the print of all the MARVEL badass ladies.

I think that this dress was limited edition and only available in the Fangirl LOOT CRATE box that came out last year, but I’m not entirely sure. If you have it, do you like it? Lemme know!

Here’s a closeup of my makeup – it was a lot of fun to create – although the wing thingy that I’ve got going on was a bit of a pain to do, but it looks cool, right?!?

Brows: I will say that I’m not exactly sure what I mixed to make my brows match my hair – I know it has a bit of Mehron’s Lavender Metallic Pigment.

Eyes: Kat Von D Beauty Pastel Goth Palette and Ink Liner in Neruda, Sugarpill Cosmetics Flamepoint and Buttercupcake Eyeshadows with Droplet Loose Eyeshadow mixed with Inglot Duraline for the blue part of the liner, NYX Cosmetics Jumbo Eye Pencil in Milk, Melt Cosmetics Yellow (radioactive stack),  Urban Decay Enigma Eyeshadow Primer Potion, Perversion Mascara, and Perversion 24/7 Pencil.

Face: Dermablend Redness Concealer and Translucent Setting Powder, Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics John Doe Creme Colour Concentrate, Tarte Cosmetics Shape Tape Concealer in Fair Light, Make Up For Ever Ultra HD Skin Booster, Ultra HD Stick Foundation in Y215 and Y225, Benefit Cosmetics Dandelion and Coralista Blushes with a touch of Hoola Lite bronzer, and Kat Von D Beauty Lock It Setting Spray

Lips: Urban Decay Cosmetics Glide on 24/7 Pencil in Asphyxia, Bobby Dazzle Lipstick and Espionage Cosmetic’s Soulless Lip Serum.

Wig: This random lavender lace front wig I found on Amazon. I will say that the wig is a bit small and so it wears a little odd on the hairline.

So that’s it for this #OOTD. DO you like these sorts of posts? Let me know in the comments. I want to do more “outfit” type posts that are more along the lines of Everyday Cosplay, so let me know if you want to see stuff like that.

  1. I got the crate and I love the dress but hardly ever wear it. I’m so tall it’s a bit short on me and I’m paranoid I’ll flash someone. 😛 Nice #OOTD!

    • Heh, I’m glad we are kinda in the same boat. I’ve thought about just deconstructing the skirt and turning it into a flowy tanktop or something. I’m glad you liked the OOTD post, I’m a little weird about posting these sorts of things. 😉 You are awesome and I <3 your face, Rhi!
